Johnson Valley OHV Recreation area has a variety of different landscapes for any type of off-highway vehicle drivers. The recreation area is surrounded
by steep red rocky mountains, rolling hills, open valleys, dry lake beds, sandy washes, dirt roads and plenty of riding trails. Elevations range from 2,300 feet to 4,300 feet. Vegetation consists of creosote scrub,
annual grasses, wild flowers and Joshua Trees. This is a Dry Camping area, water and services are not available. Pack it in and Pack it out! |

The riding areas are just off of Highway 247 (Old Woman Springs Road). You may enter the Johnson Valley OHV Recreation area using Boone Road, Bessemer
Mine Road or Camp Rock Road. These areas are located approx. 55 miles southeast of Barstow, 30 to 45 miles northeast of Yucca Valley, California. These are graded dirt roads. |
